The maker
It started in my grandfather's workshop.
I'm Evan, a woodworker in Toronto. I grew up around tools in my grandfather's workshop, watching a rough board turn into something worth keeping. The habit never left.
In 2018 I started Evan's Workshop. What began with serving boards has grown into epoxy work, furniture and custom commissions. I still design around the wood in front of me rather than forcing it into a plan.

Alongside that, I build and auction one-off pieces for SickKids, Jays Care Foundation and Giants of Africa, often with woodworkers who have taught me along the way.

I created MakerMind to help makers spend less time searching and more time building: maker-reviewed project plans, community inspiration and guidance matched to your tools and skill level.
Evan's Workshop is my own making journey; MakerMind is how I'm using what I've learned to help other people start theirs.
